MADISON - The Madison County Fair and Rodeo has been postponed due to circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deb May with the fair says they wouldn’t be able to have a gathering large enough to make the fair financially viable.
May says the reason it’s postponed instead of cancelled is because the 4-H and FFA programs will go on.
"At this time, they are still working out the logistics. They don't know if it's going to be a virtual, blended, or live display of the efforts and achievements of the 4-H youth in the community."
May says those in 4-H and FFA will be notified when a decision has been made on when and how the programs will be held.
She says they have asked their entertainment booking agency Romeo to check with REO Speedwagon, Head East, and Aaron Watson with the Dylan Bloom Band to see if they would be interested in coming back for the 2021 fair.
May says if you’ve already purchased tickets, in the next three weeks Etix will be automatically refunding your debit or credit card.
Next year’s fair is set for July 6th through the 11th 2021.
