LINCOLN - Chambers/Wheeler Central earned itself a spot in the Class D2 state championship match on Friday with a 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 victory over previously-unbeaten Maywood/Hayes Center at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Renegades improved to 33-1 on the year with the victory and will take on last year's D1 state champion, Diller-Odell, in Saturday's final at 9 a.m., also at PBA.

HOWELLS — The No. 4 seeded Howells-Dodge boys took an early 7-0 lead after a Lance Brester layup, followed by a layup and 3-pointer by senior Jacob Tomcak. That run was enough to hold off an attempted comeback by No. 13 Mead, giving the Jaguars a 43-36 win and a trip to the state tournament.

The No. 4 seeded Howells-Dodge boys beat No. 13 Mead for the third time this season earning them a trip to state. The Jaguars started the game on a 7-0 run, and that run would be the margin they won by, 43-36. The Raiders threw almost every defense at them including a box-and-one.
