West Point-Beemer played to a runner-up finish to Columbus Scotus in the Class C-2 district in Oakland on Tuesday but still has plenty of firepower to compete in the Class C state girls golf meet at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte next week.
Judging by scores from each of the four Class A golf districts, three of the 12 teams qualifying for the state tournament at the Norfolk Country Club seem to be in a league of their own.

LINCOLN – Norfolk’s Allison Temple shot an 85 to qualify for the Class A State Girls Golf Tournament, placing fourth at the District A1 Golf Tournament Monday at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln.
COLUMBUS – Boone Central’s Melissa Kyncl finished fourth, West Pont-Beemer Lacie Fox placed sixth and Atkinson West Holt’s Mackenzie Hale came in 10th in the Class C Nebraska Girl’s State Golf Tournament here at Quail Run Golf Course on Tuesday.
