LINCOLN - Crofton made a gallant comeback effort, but a 3-point try at the buzzer missed and Hastings St. Cecilia hung on to defeat the Warriors 62-60 in the semifinals of the state girls tournament at Bob Devaney Sports Center on Friday.

Crofton trailed 36-24 at the half and spent the entire second half cutting into the Hawkette lead, but just couldn't quite get over the hump.

The Warriors will play Oakland-Craig in the third-place game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lincoln East.
