TILDEN — Services for Shirley Ofe, 94, of Oakdale will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Oakdale Methodist Church. The Rev. Bruce Phillips will officiate with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.
She died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Shirley Ruth Ofe, daughter of John and Hannah Wilkinson, was born Jan. 23, 1923, at Oakdale. She attended numerous country schools near rural Elgin.
On May 4, 1949, Shirley was united in marriage to Donald “Bud” Ofe at the Church of Christ parsonage. They were blessed with three children, Vicki, Bruce and Allan.
Shirley lived in Oakdale all her life, where she worked as the city clerk and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church and Friends of the Library. Shirley was also a Cub Scout den mother, church treasurer and Friends of the Library treasurer.
Shirley is survived by her children, Vicki Ofe and Bruce and spouse Connie Ofe, all of Oakdale, and Allan and spouse Marci Ofe of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jenny Cameron, Devin Braden, and Veronica Duffy; and six great-grandchildren, Taven Cameron, Kaden Cameron, Jace Cameron, Alex Morrison, Julien Hearn and Piper Duffy.
She was preceded in death by her spouse; parents; four brothers; five sisters; and one granddaughter, Mandy.
