NORFOLK — Services for Nelda Rosenbaum, 72, Norfolk, will be at 5:30 p.m. May 10, 2019, at Victory Road Evangelical Free Church in Norfolk.

Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

She died Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Faith Regional Health Services.

1946-2019

She was born Nov. 15, 1946, in St. Edward, to George and Marion (Anderson) McKay. She was a loving mother of four, devoted spouse and public servant.

Nelda and Larry celebrated their 53rd anniversary on April 17. She loved helping others, baking and quilting in her spare time. Her family and friends were most important in her life, and she made it a point to send out daily devotions to her loved ones.

She was a strong Christian woman who always put others before herself. She worked at the Department of Health and Human Services for 36 years, where she impacted the lives of thousands of children with medical disabilities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother and sister, Donn McKay and Janet McMillen.

She is survived by her spouse, Larry; four children, Lynn (Cory) Taylor, Amy Comstock, Harold Rosenbaum and Sarah Rosenbaum; two grandchildren, Jacob Taylor and Abigail Comstock; as well as her brother, Kurt (Carlene) Jackman.

A small family service was conducted April 19 and a celebration of Nelda’s life will take place Friday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m. This will be held at Victory Road Evangelical Free Church, located at 1201 N. Victory Rd. Norfolk, NE 68701.

She will be dearly missed; to know her was to love her. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate to the National Kidney Foundation in Nelda’s name at http://www.kidney.org.

Death notices, which include information about when and where a person died, funeral services, burial and visitation for the deceased and memorial information, are published free of charge.

If families of the deceased desire to have an obituary printed, there is a fee charged for doing so. Because of that, families of the deceased can decide what information they want included in the obituary, as well as if they desire to have a photograph published along with it.
