A semi truck driver was transported for minor injuries following an accident Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 81 and Highway 32 near Madison.

Capt. Paul Hattan with the Nebraska State Patrol said a vehicle driven by Nona L. Wisnieski, 72, of Dodge turned north on Highway 81 in front of the northbound semi truck, driven by Patrick G. Brockhaus, 49, of Humphrey.

Brockhaus took evasive action and wound up leaving the roadway and rolling the semi onto its side. He had been hauling dry fertilizer.

Brockhaus was pinned in the truck for a brief period of time before he was extricated and transported by Madison Fire & Rescue. He suffered minor injuries.

Wisnieski was cited for improper turn.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison Police Department were also on scene.
