BENNINGTON (AP) — A man died Friday morning when he tried to turn his car onto a highway north of Omaha and was hit by a truck.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened when the driver of a northbound car tried to turn from Blair High Road onto Highway 36. A southbound truck struck the car, killing the driver, Heriberto Martinez-Torres, 38, of Omaha.

The driver of the truck, Dale Laflin of Orchard wasn’t injured.
