This very early photo of McCook, shows the Red Willow County courthouse on the left and the Methodist church and parsonage to the right, about 1909, looking up Main/Norris Street to the north.

The above photo shows a woman, possibly Mary Roberts, standing in front of their house at about today’s 58th and Sumner in the north portion of Normal. The house, which would have been north and east of today’s Roberts' Park, burned in 1916. 

This postcard view shows the Opera House or Leader Block around 1910, which housed a large meeting room on the upper floor, which originally doubled as the opera house with the ground floor occupied variously by the Leader general merchandise store, bank and pharmacy before the entire buildi…
