Northeast Hawks baseball players receive honors

After capping off a historic run at the NJCAA DII Baseball World Series, Cam Taylor and Drew Smith were named to the All-North Plains District Team. 

Taylor, a freshman left-handed pitcher, posted a 9-3 record in 81 innings pitched.  He started in 18 games and tossed one-complete game, while recording a 4.78 ERA with 87 strikeouts.  Smith, has begun to rack-up the awards after a monumental season for the Hawks.  In 55 games, the power-hitting second baseman tallied a .465 batting average and an .897 slugging percentage in 185 at-bats.  Smith notched 20 doubles, 18 home runs, three triples, 69 RBI and 18 stolen bases.  The Hawks finished their second year with an overall record of 36-20 and placed fifth at the NJCAA Division II World Series.
