Nebraska men's basketball holds on to beat Long Beach State

Glynn Watson Jr. scored 26 points, nabbed six steals, and had five assists and Nebraska hung on after nearly blowing a 22-point lead to beat Long Beach State 85-80 yesterday in the fifth-place game at the Advocare Invitational in Orlando, Florida. 

Watson Jr. led four players in double figures for NU.  Isaac Copeland and Evan Taylor had three-point plays during a second-half opening run that put the Huskers ahead 62-40.  The 49’ers responded with a run of its own and got with 76-59 with five minutes to play.  Long Beach State made it 83-80 on Jordan Griffin's three-pointer with three seconds remaining.  Nebraska, who led 49-40 at halftime, improves to 5-2 while the 49’ers drop to 3-4.
