Nebraska men's basketball falls to Illinois

Leron Black scored a career-high 28 points and snagged seven rebounds, to help Illinois outlast Nebraska for a 72-66 victory yesterday. 

Black led three players in double figures for the Illini.  There were six ties and nine lead changes during the game.  On Illinois’ final two possessions Trent Frazier and Mark Smith knocked down four free throws to secure the win.  They shot 62% from the field and knocked down 7-9 from behind the arc to outscore the Huskers 43-36 in the first half.  Isaac Copeland led three players in double figures for the Big Red with 17 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Isaiah Roby recorded a double-double with 14 points, ten boards, and three blocked shots.  Nebraska drops to 20-9 overall and 11-5 in the Big Ten while the Illini improves to 13-15 overall and 3-12 in the conference.
