Former Husker wins sixth gold glove

Former Nebraska Cornhusker and current Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon won his sixth gold glove last night.

His teammate Salvador Perez won his fifth Gold Glove at catcher.  Gordon, 34, won four straight Gold Gloves from 2011-14.  The Lincoln Southeast and ex-Husker compiled a 1.0 defensive WAR (wins above replacement) in 2018, his best number in the category since 2014.  Gordon, who began his professional career at third base, had nine assists and committed only two errors.
