Creighton baseball pulls off miraculous rally to stay alive at Corvallis, Oregon Regional

Will Hanafan's two-run single capped Creighton's seven-run ninth inning and the Bluejays rallied past Michigan 11-7 last night to avoid elimination in the NCAA Tournament's Corvallis, Oregon regional.

The teams play again tonight at 6:05, with the winner advancing to a Super Regional next weekend against tonight’s winner between UCLA and Loyola Marymount.  The Wolverines took a three-run lead into the final inning before Creighton erupted for seven runs.  Amongst the big inning, Jordan Hovey and Jason Allbery hit back-to-back RBI singles to tie the game and then give the Bluejays the lead.  Bobby Kametas earned the win with three innings of relief.  Hanafan finished 3-4 with two runs scored and three RBI, including a solo home run.  Creighton improves to 41-12 while Michigan drops to 42-19.  Will Robertson hit a three-run homer in a 6-1 elimination game victory over Cincinnati earlier in the day.
