LINCOLN - It’s been nothing but a success for the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Farm Bureau Foundation Executive Director Megahan Schafer says they’re now starting a second round of disaster aid distribution.
"It has exceeded I think any of our expectations. We just topped over the $3 million mark this week, and have given away about $1 million of that so we still got a nice healthy pool. We are accepting our second round distribution applications through June 21."
Schafer says the need for assistance, both short term and long term, continues to grow.
She says each day there are different requests, and the Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Relief Fund stands ready to help farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.
