Ricketts in China for Trade Mission

LINCOLN - Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts will be leading a few trade missions this summer and fall.

Ricketts tells News Talk WJAG, they’ll really focus on beef exports.

"I'll be going to Vietnam which is a country of about 100 million people. We've seen a big increase in our beef exports there lately so we want to continue to develop that relationship and sell more beef as well as find other markets for products like soybeans. Then we'll go to Japan which is also another great trading relationship. Our beef exports to Japan are up 27% over the last couple of years."

Ricketts says in November he’ll be going to Europe’s largest agricultural trade show call Agritechnica in Hanover Germany.

He says the delegation is expected to also meet with German government officials to discuss trade policy, and will hold meetings with agricultural officials and industry leaders in agricultural manufacturing.
