NORFOLK - Early childhood educators are invited to attend a free Birds and Books workshop.
Education Program Manager Lindsay Rogers says the workshop is being held so educators can take the information they learn and incorporate it in their classroom.
Rogers says this workshop will focus primarily on song birds you see in Northeast Nebraska.
"The goal is for the workshop participants to learn about not only these literature books, but the science behind the birds. They'll also learn basic identification like how to count and look at birds. Students can also record what birds are coming to the feeder during certain times."
Rogers says educators will receive bird-related science-focused lessons, bird-related literature books, the birds of Nebraska field guide, and a bird feeder.
The workshop is set to take place at the Elkhorn Valley Museum Tuesday from 6 to 9 P.M.
To register call the Northeast District office at (402) 370-3374.
