Norfolk boys drill Omaha Burke; Bulldogs edge Panther girls

Second-ranked Norolk High (Omaha World-Herald Top 10) improved to 14-0 with a 70-57 victory over Omaha Burke here Friday night.

The Bulldog girls beat Norfolk 42-38.

Tremain Monroe scored 21 points to pace the Panther boys. Alex Starkel, a 6-foot-7 senior, added 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Panthers. Jalen Bradley recorded 17 points and five assists.

Norfolk led 38-17 at halftime and Omaha Burke got no closer than 13 points last in the ballgame.

The Norfolk girls couldn't overcome a 1-for-16 shooting effort in the second quarter as the remained winless at home this year.

Freshman Jaycee Bradley led the Panthers with 12 points.

The Panther boys and girls play at North Platte on Saturday night at 5:15 and 7 p.m.
