WINSIDE — Services for Tom Koll, 58, Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Winside, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery in Winside.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church with the family present.

He died Friday, June 7, 2019, at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne is in charge of the arrangements.

1960-2019

Thomas Scott Koll was born Oct. 27, 1960, in Norfolk, to Robert and Jacquelyn (Freiberg) Koll. He attended grade school in Winside and graduated from Winside High School in 1979. He began farming with his dad and lived on his grandfather’s family farm.

He married Teresa (Hartmann) in 1981, and to this union, two children were born, Travis and Tara. They later divorced.

For several years, Tom has farmed near Winside with his “brother” Brian, even after moving to live part time in Scottsdale.

Tom loved being a grandpa and the time he was able to spend with all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and cards and fishing. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Tom is survived by Connie Kathol of Scottsdale; a daughter, Tara (Tyson) Ames of Winside; three grandchildren, Ashton Hanna, Reece Ames and Emery Ames; a sister, Tami (Brian) Hoffman of Winside; nephews Adam (Ashley) Hoffman and family of Wayne and Aaron (Alicia) Hoffman and family of Omaha; niece Ashley (Joe) Hartman and family of Omaha; and extended family Andrew Kathol of Omaha, Dylan (Nick) Kathol of Chicago and Sr. Mary (Devon) Kathol of Washington, D.C., and cousins.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Travis in 2017.
