The Norfolk Area Film Commission has announced plans for the Norfolk premiere of Alexander Payne's movie "Nebraska" on Monday, November 25.
The film, starring Bruce Dern, Will Forte, Stacy Keach and Bob Odenkirk, was filmed last fall in 13 communities throughout Nebraska, including several in Northeast Nebraska.
The Norfolk premiere celebration will start with a champagne reception at 5:30 p.m. at the Divots Conference Center. Dern and Forte will be attending the reception along with Payne. The reception will feature comments by Payne at 6:15 p.m.
From there, attendees will make their way to Norfolk 7 Theatre for an exclusive 7:30 p.m. viewing of the film.
Tickets for the Norfolk premiere are $50 each and will go on sale Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. Tickets will be sold online by visiting www.NorfolkNebraskaPremiere.com.
Due to space limitations, only a limited number of tickets will be available. To provide opportunity for a variety of people to attend, each person will only be allowed to purchase two tickets.
Ticket holders will be required to present their ticket at both premiere event locations.
The Paramount Vantage film is Payne's fourth movie filmed in his home state of Nebraska.
"Nebraska" is the story of a cantankerous father (Dern) who thinks he's struck it rich after receiving a sweepstakes letter in the mail, and wrangles his son (Forte) into taking a road trip with him to claim the fortune.
Shot in black and white across four states, the film tells the stories of family life in the heartland of America. "Nebraska" was written by Bob Nelson and produced by Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa.
