Jesse Casas Ferguson

A Norfolk High graduate has been chosen to serve as the executive director of The Nebraska Change Venture.

Jesse Ferguson will serve in that capacity after helping to plan the expansion of the national Be the Change Venture into Nebraska, operating as The Nebraska Change Venture.

Through a series of workshops, resources and community events, The Nebraska Change Venture will prepare young people, ages 14-18, in their professional lives.

“Our programming works to teach high school students how to effectively network while exposing them to professionals, industries, jobs and opportunities. By partnering with school districts, businesses and local governments, The Nebraska Change Venture hopes to host a series of networking seminars and events,” Ferguson said.

Over the past four years, Be The Change Venture, which was founded by Anthony Price, has worked with over 1,000 young people in communities across Ohio and Alabama.

“We hope its expansion to Nebraska brings its mission closer to working with diverse communities while bridging the gap between our current and future workforce across the United States,” Ferguson said. “However, we cannot do this work alone. With the help of fellow Nebraskans, we can connect, inspire and change lives.”
