Motorcyle and farm equipment accident

FIRST RESPONDERS work a scene late night Sunday of an accident that sent one to the hospital.

Representatives of the Madison County Sheriff’s office, the Norfolk Police Division and Norfolk Fire and Rescue investigate the scene late Sunday night of an accident that took place on the Elkhorn River bridge on South First Street near Andy’s Lake Road that involved a motorcycle and a piece of farm equipment.

Sheriff Todd Volk said a preliminary investigation found the motorcycle had been driving northbound on South First Street when it collided with a pickup pulling a 14-foot windrow mower that was southbound and crossing over the South First Street bridge. The rider of the motorcycle was flown from the scene by LifeNet to a trauma hospital in Sioux City. The Nebraska State Patrol also helped at the accident scene.
