Trail of Destruction

June 16, 2014. That was the day that Mother Nature wreaked devastation on Pilger and other parts of Northeast Nebraska as tornadoes struck the area.

The Daily News is planning a four-day series of stories next week that will recall that terrifying day but, more importantly, examine where Pilger and its residents — as well as other Northeast Nebraskans — are today, a full five years after the destruction.

Called “Trail of Destruction,” the series will be published Monday through Thursday, June 10-13, and include stories, photographs — both from 2014 and current — a map, video and more.
