The Norfolk Area Relay For Life event over the weekend brought in some serious cash.

According to the group’s Relay web page, more than $39,000 was raised in total, which includes donations made before the event and during the event and luminary sales.

The top fundraising team was the Merry Moo’s, which raised $5,475.

The goal of $65,000 was not reached, but donations will continue to be accepted online at https://bit.ly/2QPpe4p, and scroll to the “Donate” button.

Relay For Life events have raised $410 million for the American Cancer Society as of August 2018.
