NET will be broadcasting a special showing of PBS’ “Johnny Carson, King of Late Night” biography as part of its annual membership drive.

The Carson broadcast is set for Sunday, March 2, at 8 p.m., as well as Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m., said Jenny Herstein, director of development for the NET Foundation for Television.

An in-studio guest during the broadcasts will be Kent Warneke, founder and chairman of the Great American Comedy Festival, which is Norfolk’s annual tribute to the legacy of Johnny Carson.

Herstein and Mark Leonard, NET general manager, will visit with Warneke about the festival, Norfolk’s long connection with Carson and the late entertainer’s commitment to philanthropy.
