A 24-year-old Norfolk woman was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly trying to conceal drugs in a Bible.
Capt. Leon Chapman said police were called to the Alco Store regarding a female subject shoplifting in the store.
Officers identified her as Sheena E. Aesoph of Norfolk. Aesoph had taken several items that were in her possession and in her purse, Chapman said.
During the investigation, a glass pipe with white crystal substance was located in the binder of her Bible, Chapman said.
Field testing of the substance showed the presence of methamphetamine, he said. Aesoph was arrested for shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aesoph was lodged in the Norfolk City Jail until being transferred to the Madison County Jail on Thursday morning.
